Having a Greek family growing up made it important for me to learn a foreign language so that I would be able to talk to my many family members. I considered it a personal goal while I was in Dowling College and succeeded with greatness. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Romance Languages while minoring in education. I substituted in many schools and have also taught Spanish in the junior high school. It took me a few years to master the Greek language, so as I was teaching my pupils, I had no problem realizing how hard the language can be to master. The rules, verbs, grammar and other concepts take more than a while to learn and takes constant practice and at times is a lengthy process. I use everything from songs to acronyms and even flash cards to help my students learn the work at hand. I do not believe in putting pressure on the children in my classes; a tutor should be patient, regardless of the many incorrect answers they receive to a question. During my free time, I like to cook and watch dramas on TV. I also enjoy traveling and am into health and fitness as well.
